Re: Comfort Foods
Mmmm...that sounds good.
I have a soft spot for kraft dinner when I just want something quick and good. If I have time to make something, I love tacos.

Re: Comfort Foods
If it's something quick I will eat Mac and Cheese.
Growing up my grandma would have those pastel colored M&Ms for Easter and she'd let us eat them before dinner, even though my parents didn't want us to. She died of Alzheimer's a couple years ago. So now I have some weird, strong, emotional tie to Easter M&Ms. I know it sounds weird, but if I'm ever upset around Easter that's what I eat.

Re: Comfort Foods
Interesting! Do you guys have the Cadbury mini-eggs? Those are a favourite of mine around Easter...
Also, around Christmas, I eat way too many of those clementines. So many, that I typically find myself with a bunch of canker sores.

Re: Comfort Foods
We do have Cadbury Creme eggs, pretty sure we have minis too.
I'm big on Christmas cookies more than candy. My grandma (still living) makes these delicious tiny shortbread cookies with icing and red & green sprinkles. I ate too many one year and got sick, but I still love them.

Hey, if you don't ever get sick from eating too much of it - it can't be something you love that much.

Re: Comfort Foods
Country fried steak. Mashed Potatoes. Cream Gravy. LOTS of cream gravy. Typical Hoosier comfort food.
Although, I'm a foodie at heart, so I love just about all foods. We should have an official cooking/food forum here!

Hmmm...thinking out loud here...tell me what you guys think.........Trader Joe wrote:We should have an official cooking/food forum here!
But since we all have such a wide span of interests here, perhaps everyone could kind of take over a subforum as their 'own' and become the mod/admin, since it would be a topic that person is passionate about? That way, they can really keep good discussion going, post the latest since they are presumably reading/thinking along those lines as it stands.....
I think most of us here have a certain thing or two that we REALLY like and maybe that would be a good way to go about doing this all?
Thoughts?

Re: Comfort Foods
So, in case I wasn't all that clear...
Perhaps something like the cooking forum would exist, and that would be Trader's forum to really get off the ground. Maybe you'd have an animals/nature/environmental forum that could be Ms. Piggy's responsibility. Heywoode loves photography........Newman loves TV/Movies............
I dunno - thinkin' out loud like I said.

Re: Comfort Foods
I think it could be fun! We'd have to come up with some conceptual structure for this all. These are unprecedented waters my friends!

Re: Comfort Foods
Ooooh - a girl talk forum! Haha - I never thought about that.
What is girl talk, anyway? Is it relationship-y? If that were the case, perhaps that would have broader appeal? Or, of course you could do the girl talk, and then we find a way to get bellisimo over here to do the 'guy talk' - hah.

We can have a board dedicated to sodomy called "The Basement" for btown, right?

Re: Comfort Foods
I don't know if this would work or not - but I think it would be a great way to add to the quality of discussions when you've got someone who knows what they're talking about runnin' the joint and keeping things fresh/up to date. Maybe the forum becomes "The House the Counters Built"

Usually girl talk is between 2 girls about the guys they like and/or what they like in guys. Stuff you see in chick flicks.
If there's anything you want to know about girls, advice, that kind of thing I'd be happy to oblige

Re: Comfort Foods
Do people have any suggestions as to how this would be structured/organized? Would you just have a bunch of topics listed like they currently are on the front page; would there be more generalized categories listed under which various sub-forums would fall; would you have each counter take their own little 'spot' (i.e. Ms Piggy' Penhouse) - and then have subforums there? I dunno.
