So at work today I had the radio set to a "current hits" type station. In a matter of an hour I heard two songs that really bothered me. One referenced "love", but sounded more like the girl was sexy and she was good in bed. The other was seriously about cheating on your gf/bf.

I've heard songs on the radio in the past with the same theme. Guy finds girl sexy on the pole/dance floor and falls in love with her...they bang and call it love.

I guess I just want to know...what does love mean to you guys? Is love just good sex? Is it something more?

Song #2 brings up cheating. I've talked to my friends and it seems that when a guy cheats he gets a shit ton of "playa points" and stuff, but then when a girl cheats she's a slut. She breaks her man's heart and no one should be with her...that's how it seems in hip-hop songs anyway. How do you guys feel about cheating? It's wrong right? What's the line between flirting and cheating?

Just want some male opinions on this topic.

Look at the context of the song (I know...it really is brutal reading these lyrics).

The guy is talking about watching a girl from afar on the dance floor "at first sight" wanting it all - the predatory gaze - she is a stranger - but it doesn't matter...he wants - we have entitlement.

No, but I mean seriously - as someone who studies literature, reading these sorts of things must be a monumental WTF-experience.

You would be surprised. There's a bunch of bad literature. Or contemp literature, I guess. History does the cleaning for us w/ the old stuff. . . ultimately if it doesn't move people, it won't live on. . .
