What was your first concert? Your favourite concert? The last concert you went to?

My first was actually a free mall show that Avril Lavigne did in Toronto. It was her and her guitar player doing an acoustic show. It was actually really good from what I remember.

Favourite concert would have to be The Sasquatch Music Festival because I got to see so many bands at once and it was the first time I saw Ben Harper play.

Last Concert was in Perth, Australia and I saw Pearl Jam and the openers were Ben Harper & Relentless 7 and Liam Finn. Great show. Liam Finn is a fantastic musician.

So what about you?

My first concert was Deep Purple, Ted Nugent, and Lynyrd Skynryd. Later that night I hooked up with a hippie and got really hungry/thirsty. Naw, that didn't happen.

I was like 15 I think.

My last concert was Fall Out Boy. Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Metrostation, Hey Monday.

Not bad but the audience sucked.

I've never seem so much zebra print, skinny jeans, boys who looked like girls, silly glasses, or safety yellow.

FOB was awesome and so was hey monday but metrostation sucked..

Sucks.

First was probably some christian rock thing I went to or something, I was into that for a while.

Favorite was the Hold Steady at P4K 2008, (also saw Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, and Jay Reatard) and I might see them again on 9/30.

Most recent as most of you know was Modest Mouse and BSS at P4K 2010. It was also really good, but more crowded than 08 and the Hold Steady are like my favorite band, so it's only at position 2 on my list.

I have been to only a few concerts - and they were all free events. I've seen:

I Mother Earth
Sam Roberts
Billy Talent

I'd say the best out of the three was I Mother Earth.

Only concert I've ever paid to see was The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Amazing, amazing performance. Listening to Wynton Marsalis in person - hearing that tone . . . wow!

My first real concert was either Britney Spears or Nsync. Don't remember which was first.
My favorite AND most recent was P4K with Broken Social Scene and Modest Mouse. Such good show!

I was only kidding but I really didn't (heck I still don't) have an interest in any of those first bands I saw. I went with my cool older brother and his gang.

I do HATE Freebird. Serious.

LOL!!!!!

I won't judge though. Just made me laugh. I was so infatuated with my ex that he was able to drag me to a Big N Rich concert at the Indiana State Fair. I fucking hate country music. It was hell.

Roughly in order:

First was Herman's Hermits...warmed up first by the Blues Magoos, and The Who. I thought the Who were very loud and I did not understand why they wrecked the drums, and smashed the guitar.

The Association.
Grass Roots.
Head East
Ike and Tina Turner Revue.
Siegal-Schwall Blues Band.
The Band...brilliant.

The Byrds / Steppenwolf...Steppenwolf was the headliner, but The Byrds just shut them down (the line-up with Clarence White on guitar). This tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLtKbqEIY58

Jefferson Airplane / Seals and Croft / Canned Heat / Richie Haven / Mason Proffit...too much mescaline and muscatel!

Mountain (blah) / King Crimson (awesome)

Alvin Lee and Mick Taylor (who knows...I was drunk)

Steve Miller Band / Leo Kottke (Quit yelling 'Boogie!' while Kottke's playing, ya friggin' burnout morons)

Frank Zappa and the Mothers / Mahavishnu Orchestra

Jethro Tull / Blackmore's Rainbow

Return to Forever / Shakti (John McLaughlin and Ravi Shankar)...masterful.

Jean Luc Ponty
Sea Level
Lynyrd Skynyrd (about three months before they all died) Most excellent.

Allman Bros (after they all died) / Charlie Daniels....walked out.

May have been some others...

Oh. Air Supply, in Korea, covering it for the local military magazine. Ho hum.

Saw 3 Doors Down...meh. Saw Dir En Grey with my daughter...pooie.

Haven't really gone to a concert i wanted to see for 30 years.

That is a long list.

I have seen
Ben Harper 5 times,
Jack Johnson twice,
Damian Marley,
ALO,
Matt Costa,
Bedouin Soundclash,
Peirs Faccini,
Nine Inch Nails,
TV on the Radio,
The Shins,
Tragically Hip,
Matthew Good Band,
Silversun Pickups,
Snow Patrol,
OK GO,
Pearl Jam,
Liam Finn,
Avril Lavigne,
The Trews

and I am sure there are a few more that I really didn't know or pay attention to that were openers for one of these bands.

I love music and if I had the money I would see a musician once a month that I wanted to see and i am going to try and make that a goal in the future. I have a 12 year old cousin that I am going to take to see some live music because she used to tell me she would hate live music so I am trying to open her ears to some great live music and I told her I would take her to a concert and then she can pick an artist and we would go see them live. She had asked me to go see Justin Beiber (which I would have just to get her into live music), but she is going with a group of her friends now so that is best for all hahaha.

The shins were alright, I didnt really enjoy it so much, I think partially because Ben Harper was playing after them and I just wanted to hear him.

I have hard his parents had some good music. What was there band?

Liam Finn's album I'll Be Lightning is one to be purchased FOR SURE. Can't believe how much I am feeling that album lately. He also has a good EP with Eliza Jane called Champagne In Seashells that is pretty good as well. He is teaming up with some other musicians for another album that is going to be released later this year called BARB http://store.yeproc.com/album.php?id=15193.

My problem with concerts: None of my friends really have my taste in music. I talk about wanting to go see Yeasayer and Vampire Weekend, they plan the 100th Dave Matthews concert extravaganza. I have been to a few alone, but that is really a last resort, and it's really not much fun.

What is the Vogue? I'm a fan of the Hold Steady. Their latest album didn't hit the expectations I had for it, but it's still good stuff.
