The Silence of the Lambs

I thought I had seen it before but I was wrong. I had seen bits and pieces of it though.

It is about a trainee FBI Agent (Foster) trying to catch a serial killer they are calling Buffalo Bill and she is enlisted to interview Dr. Hanibal Lector (Hopkins) about his past as a serial killer to see if she can get a profile of who Buffalo Bill is. Hilarity ensues. 6.5-7/10

I've never seen the movie. I read the book many years ago and loved it. Classic story.

I just like how I learned that the line "She puts the lotion on her skin" came from that movie cause I have seen it in other movies, parodied on South Park and heard in an Eminem rap lyric.

Edge of Darkness

Finally saw the second half of this movie today on the flight from calgary to Toronto. I watched the first half on the flight from London to Calgary two and a half weeks ago. It is an ok movie. Nothing special about it really other than Mel Gibson kicking some ass (other than is wife's BOOOOOOOOM).

Clash of the Titans

I really heard nothing but bad things about this movie going in so I had very low expectations. I liked it. That being said it wasn't anything to go out and buy, rent or download but if you are on a plane and you have seen all the other movies or have them downloaded on your computer and are looking for something to watch and Clash of the Titans is a choice, then choose it.

Grown Ups

Pretty good movie. Didn't have high hopes on this one just because of bad reviews and such but if you go in figuring it will be an ok movie you wont be disappointed. Your basic story of friends who havent seen each other in 30 years get together and hang out, get to be great friends again and everyone learns something about themselves in a cheesy way and a few funny parts are added to make it a comedy.

The Losers

Good movie. It is about a group of 5 soldiers who are tricked into a mission by someone in the CIA and they are written off as dead but they are not. They exact revenge on this man with some help. Good acting, good story line, good effect, everything about it was entertaining.

Exam

I believe it is a British film about a group of 8 people who are applying for a job and they are on the final exam and they only have to answer one question but their exam papers are all blank. It was a good movie with twists and turns around. They did a lot with a movie that 100% took place in one room.

Greenberg

Ben Stiller stars in an non comedic role. He plays the brother of a man who is taking his family to Vietnam and he asked his brother Roger to watch his house for the 6 weeks. While there Roger starts learning a bit about himself, has an affair with the families assistant and grows up a little. I enjoyed it.

Good Will Hunting

Had seen bits and pieces and knew the general plot, but this was the first time sitting down and watching it all the way through.

Really liked it.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Only heard good reviews from LA and someone else (I wanna say Pig Nash??). Didn't know what this movie was going to be about, didn't know anything other than there might be a girl with a tattoo of a dragon somewhere in the movie. Good film for sure. Didn't know it was coming from Sweden. Worst part was the copy I watched was dubbed into english so I had to deal with not really hearing the true voices, or words. I prefer subtitles to dubbing, but that is just me.

Just reading that Hollywood is now going to do its own adaptation of this movie...why is it that Hollywood sees the need to take any good foreign movie and re-do them? It will be interesting to see how they re-make it but now knowing the movie, what would be the point in seeing it again?

It was me, N8R. I watched it with subtitles, and it was a little arduous as I was sleepy. But it was very good.

Chris Nolan's first film. Only 70 minutes long, but it's well told and interesting. Black and white and you have to pay attention though.

American History X

Probably the 7th or 8th time I've watched the film and I come to hate it more with each viewing.

Hate it?? Why would you hate it?

Mostly because of the representation of characters. And the ending really bothers me as well. In my opinion, the movie is racist (and sexist for that matter) even though it's supposed to be addressing anti-racism. I don't get any sense of anti-racism in the movie, though...the whole message (if there is one?) is completely oversimplified - I guess it isn't surprising coming from Hollywood.

I still love it.

Repo Men

Takes place in the future where there is a company that sells electronic body organs to people who need them but they put them on a payment plan and if they cant pay then the repo men come and take the organ back. But when one of the repo men needs an organ his views begin to change. It was pretty entertaining. enjoyable ending.

The Last Song

Ah good ol Miley Cyrus. Didn't think much of this movie going in so it was pretty good with low expectations. Aspects were predictable but that real main plot line I didn't see coming, I thought it was going in another direction but it took a bit of a left hand turn. 4.5/10

The Karate Kid

This was the new one with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. It was pretty decent. Jackie Chan did a great job in this one.

Inception - I liked it!

That may be the shortest review that film ever got.
